AEGEAN & Icelandair Enhance Greece–Iceland Connectivity

AEGEAN and Icelandair have announced a new strategic codeshare partnership designed to strengthen air connectivity between Greece and Iceland while offering travelers greater flexibility and access to a wider range of destinations.

The agreement, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), will enable passengers to book journeys across both airlines' networks under a single reservation. The partnership is expected to streamline travel between the two countries and improve access to connecting destinations throughout each carrier's route network.

Through the collaboration, Icelandair customers will gain expanded access to destinations across Greece via AEGEAN's network, while AEGEAN passengers will benefit from improved travel options to Iceland through Icelandair's services. Specific routes included in the codeshare agreement are expected to be announced at a later stage.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed during the 82nd IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Rio de Janeiro, highlighting the growing cooperation between airlines seeking to expand international connectivity and enhance passenger convenience.

The partnership aligns with AEGEAN's broader strategy of strengthening network reach and developing connections in markets experiencing increasing tourism demand. For both leisure and business travelers, the agreement is expected to create more seamless travel opportunities between Southern Europe and the North Atlantic region.
