As geopolitical tensions in the Middle East continue to impact global aviation, several major European carriers are responding by increasing flight capacity to key destinations across Asia.
Airlines including British Airways, Air France, and the Lufthansa Group have introduced additional services to cities such as Singapore and Bangkok, with Air France also expanding its operations to Delhi. These adjustments come as major transit hubs in the Gulf, Dubai, Doha, and Abu Dhabi, face significant operational limitations, reducing the availability of connecting routes between Europe and Asia.
To help maintain connectivity, British Airways has scheduled extra flights from London Heathrow to both Singapore and Bangkok. The airline confirmed an additional Bangkok service along with two supplementary flights to Singapore, aiming to better accommodate passenger demand during this period.
Air France is similarly enhancing its network, with a series of additional flights planned from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Bangkok, Singapore, and Delhi over the coming weeks. The airline is also increasing capacity by deploying larger aircraft on several existing long-haul routes, including services to major Asian cities such as Mumbai, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Phuket.
The Lufthansa Group has also moved to strengthen its long-haul offering, announcing additional short-notice flights to both Asia and Africa. Lufthansa will operate extra services from Munich to Singapore and from Frankfurt to Cape Town, while Austrian Airlines is adding more flights between Vienna and Bangkok.
In parallel, Singapore Airlines is reinforcing its Europe-Asia corridor by introducing additional flights between London Heathrow and Singapore. These services, scheduled over the coming weeks, will be operated with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft featuring four cabin classes, catering to both premium and economy travelers.
For corporate travelers, these developments provide increased flexibility and alternative routing options during a period of disruption. As airlines continue to adapt to changing conditions, staying informed and planning ahead remain essential for ensuring smooth and efficient business travel.
